Banglalink has officially launched the first Voice over WiFi in Bangladesh, introducing a new era of seamless communication for mobile users. With this innovative VoWiFi service, customers can now make crystal-clear calls using WiFi networks instead of relying solely on mobile signals.
This breakthrough ensures uninterrupted connectivity even in places with weak or no mobile coverage—such as homes, offices, or underground basements—provided users are connected to WiFi. According to Banglalink, calls via this WiFi calling Bangladesh service will be charged at the same rate as regular mobile calls, with no additional costs.
Johan Buse, CEO of Banglalink, stated, “VoWiFi will make staying connected simpler, clearer, and more reliable, helping our customers enjoy a seamless digital lifestyle wherever they are.” He further emphasized that the launch of this Banglalink VoWiFi milestone reflects the company’s commitment to advancing Bangladesh’s digital future.
Currently, the service is available on a pilot basis in Dhaka and Chattogram in collaboration with selected internet service providers, after approval from the telecom regulator. Banglalink also confirmed its plans to gradually expand the Voice over WiFi in Bangladesh nationwide.
