Free Wi-Fi Internet Service Launched at Airports and Railway Stations in Bangladesh

To make internet access more convenient in busy public places, Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) has launched free Wi-Fi internet services at several airports and railway stations across the country under the initiative “BTCL Free Wi-Fi Hotspot Zone.”

According to BTCL, this initiative aims to provide travelers and the general public with easy and fast internet connectivity while they are at transport hubs. With the introduction of these hotspot zones, passengers will be able to stay connected online, access information, communicate through digital platforms, and use various online services during their waiting time.

Under the initial phase of the program, BTCL Free Wi-Fi Hotspot Zones have been launched at the following locations:

  1. Shah Makhdum Airport, Rajshahi
  2. Dhaka Airport Railway Station
  3. Cox’s Bazar International Airport
  4. Cox’s Bazar Railway Station
  5. Saidpur Airport

Officials stated that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to expand digital connectivity in line with the country’s digital development goals. BTCL also plans to gradually introduce free Wi-Fi hotspot zones at more important public locations in the future.

Passengers within these designated hotspot areas will be able to connect to the BTCL network and enjoy free internet access.
